December 1st is Giving Tuesday, an international day of charitable giving, and we are asking that on this upcoming Giving Tuesday, please support gorillas! We share more than 98% of our DNA with these majestical animals and the threats they face on our warming planet continue each day. Gorillas live in the Congo basin, in the second-largest tropical rain forest left on earth, a forest that plays a critical role in our fight against climate change.
On Giving Tuesday, we want people to know that the species is still in extreme danger, and we cannot let up in our conservation efforts. When gorillas are healthy, the forests in which they live are healthy as well, as are the other species of plants and animals who thrive in the gorillas’ habitat. Protecting gorillas protects us all.

We know that asking someone for a donation can be tough, especially if you haven't done it before. To support your efforts, you will find a link to our "Fundraising Tools" below that has suggested emails, social media posts, and images that you can download and use however you would like. Just remember, no donation is too small, as every dollar makes a difference, and the worst answer you can get when asking is a "no". Start with the easy asks, your parents, grandparents, and friends as they are the most likely to support a cause that is close to your heart!
Good luck and thank you for supporting the ongoing conservation of wild gorillas!
The Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund is the largest and longest-running organization fully dedicated to gorilla conservation. No one knows gorillas like we do. Every day, we protect gorilla families, study how they live, and teach future scientists and local communities to do the same. Gorillas remain on the brink of extinction and without our continued efforts, their future is anything but secure, and neither is ours.
There are many ways for you to help and we can’t do it without you. 80% of the work we do every day is made possible by your individual support and contributions.
